Hello I am Raelene Kovaciny! I am a DONA International trained birth doula and am currently working toward my Birth Arts International doula certification. I’ve been a doula for 11 years now and have attended over 150 births. I'm also a breastfeeding and childbirth educator. I live in Mankato with my husband and am a stay-at-home mom to our six children. Our first four children were hospital births and our fifth and sixth babies were born at home.
From the moment my first child was born in 2002, I realized how incredible and capable a woman's body is. Two fires lit inside of me at her birth: the first to be the best mother I could be, and the second to serve other mothers in their journey of motherhood. I am devoted to what I now know is my life's calling: I have a passion to help women feel supported and empowered by their childbirth because I believe that a woman's birth experience can play a significant part in shaping her as a mother. I experienced firsthand how beneficial a positive attitude and strong support network can be during labor and delivery.
