Hi! My name is Kara and I am a herbalist as well as an integrative nutritionist located in Eagle Lake, MN, just outside of Mankato. I offer one-on-one herbal consultations (all ages!) to provide individualized care, I lead local plant walks to introduce folks to the plants (food and medicine) that grow all around them, and I offer various workshops and classes.
I love working with families in all of the stages - from wanting to start a family to having a child/children to raising them and growing with them - and everything in between. My passion is in educating and guiding families along their health journey, by working with local herbs I have harvested and made into medicines myself as well as working with flower essences, diet/lifestyle modifications, and supplementing high quality nutrition as needed.
The body is designed to heal, but sometimes it just needs a little reminder or a little nudge to find its way back into flow and balance once again. Herbs and flower essences assist in this so beautifully. These herbal remedies are incredible to work with both as preventative care as well as acute or even chronic care - no matter if the symptom/ailment displays as physical, mental or emotional.
After working as a nutritionist with individuals and families as part of a busy chiropractic clinic for about 6 years, I started my own practice, Thistle Patch Wellness, in 2022. When I am not working with clients, leading local plant walks, or offering classes/workshops, I enjoy spending time outdoors, working on any number of hobbies or projects, being with my fiancé, and visiting my family.
